An airborne disease is any disease caused by pathogens transmitted through the air. The relevant pathogens may be viruses, bacteria, or fungi, spread through coughing, sneezing, laughing, or simply exhaling. In addition, dust, spraying of liquids, or aerosol particles and droplets may cause the spread of infectious particles.
Even favorable working conditions can trigger infectious airborne diseases through HVAC systems when not properly maintained. Legionella (mainly Legionella pneumophila), can spread rapidly throughout the facility.

THE WONDER AND UNDERSTANDING OF CHLORINE DIOXIDE (CLO2)
Chlorine dioxide smells somewhat like chlorine bleach, but it should not be confused with chlorine bleach or chlorine gas. They all share the name of “Chlorine” but are very different chemicals that react differently and produce by-products that have little in common. Chlorine dioxide forms none of the harmful by-products produced by chlorine gas or chlorine bleach.

Chlorine Dioxide (CLO2) is a gas with strong oxidizing properties. An “oxidizing agent” removes electrons from reactive molecules. By this process, CLO2 quickly neutralizes and eliminates odors, and also breaks the cell wall of microorganisms. CLO2’s action is rapid on most microorganisms and is unique in its ability to kill bacteria, virus, fungus and spores. Influenza A and B and Norovirus (Norwalk virus) are examples of enveloped viruses that are hard to kill. CLO2is uniquely able to penetrate this protein envelope and disable these pathogens. CLO2 is also effective for penetrating the proteins surrounding certain pollens to render them harmless to those with allergies.

CHLORINE DIOXIDE

Chlorine dioxide (CLO2) is a powerful biocide at concentrations as low as 0.1 PPM over a wide pH range. It is more effective than ammonia and chlorine with no hazardous by-products. This is based on at least two facts:
- No harmful by- products
Chlorine dioxide does not produce harmful by-products such as THMs and halogenated hydrocarbons, which are possibly carcinogenic. Therefore, it does not pollute the environment.
- Lower amounts are required
Due to its potent action as well as its long-lasting effects; considerably lower amounts of chlorine dioxide are needed, compared to other disinfectants, for the same level of disinfection requirements. This ensures minimal by-products and contributes to its status as an environment-friendly disinfectant.
CL02 is a well-known sanitizer and disinfectant approved by the FDA for many applications. The World Health Organization (WHO) of the United Nations (UN) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) recommends CLO2. It is also a disinfectant listed on the Guideline for Laboratory Biosafety of WHO.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), an agency of the United States Department of Labor, has set an 8-hour permissible exposure limit of 0.1 ppm in air (0.3 mg/m) for people exposed to chlorine dioxide.

Blocker provides a clean, safe zone of up to 3ft or 1 meter around consumers.
Once activated Blocker remains fully effective for 30 days. After 30 days, its effectiveness gradually lowers.

No. ClO2 gas has no smell unless the level of chlorine gas being emitted is above 0.3ppm. Blocker is well within this range and therefore has no smell.
No. The patent protected ClO2 solid formulation is contained in a special fine mesh paper sachet that is then enclosed in a thin, fully-sealed aluminum package. As long as the sachet containing the solidified ClO2 is not damaged or torn by the user there should be no residue.
Direct contact with bare skin should be avoided. If any discomfort is experienced, discontinue use immediately. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention immediately.
