FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Acoustic Wave Therapy, better known as Low Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LIST) has been used for years as a multi-disciplinary device used in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy, Urology, and Veterinary medicine. Its main assets are fast pain relief and mobility restoration. Together with being a non-surgical therapy with no need for painkillers makes it an ideal therapy to speed up recovery and cure various indications causing acute or chronic pain. In recent years it has also grown in popularity to reverse the effects of Male Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and Female Sexual Arousal Disorders, and to Enhance and Maximize Sexual Performance.

It delivers acoustic pulse waves that pulsate through the tissue unblocking blood vessels, improving blood flow by dissolving plaque. The energy promotes regeneration and reparative processes to the bones, tendons, and other soft tissue, accelerates tissue repair and cell growth, analgesia and mobility restoration. The kinetic energy of the projectile, created by compressed air, is transferred to the transmitter at the end of the hand-held applicator and further into the tissue.

Most patients with chronic pain problems have been through various unsuccessful types of treatments. Up to 80% of the same patients worldwide report that Shockwave therapy has helped them eliminate their problem.

No for most patients. A numbing cream is self-applied 30 minutes before each treatment, but some people may experience mild stinging with the first couple of treatments. Since each treatment is only 5 minutes any discomfort felt will be short lived. If this occurs then you can tell your practitioner, and they can adjust the machine to a lower setting.
